sorry its been so long guys- been really busy... I was a massive fan of buying killing in the name of last year to beat x factor, and was particularly belligerent to those who thought they were being very clever in pointing out that rage were signed by sony who simon cowell is part of. it had nothing to do with the money.

this time though- money matters, with all proceeds going to charity. so not only am i able to face a couple of my fingers in x factor's direction for crucifying songs on a weekly basis (creep?!?!? really?!?!!?), i also get to give money to charity.

Imagine Radio 1 playing this come Christmas Day!

Problem is, most radio stations have a built-in first response if there's more than about 8 seconds of silence, and after that time a randomly generated song will play.

Would be hilar though. S'all I'm say'n.

I will be surprised if X Factor gets beat to Christmas no.1 this year. There doesn't seem to be enough support for any single one campaign. There's been so many campaigns this time round, which was inevitable after Rage last year, as we now have loads of web warriors wanting a piece of the pie as a result. It's a shame because it will make X Factor's victory seem significant to some, and will make Cowell even more smug. I wish no-one bothered trying this year, as we music fans made out point loud and clear a year ago.

Kutox is spot on. The number one single should be a song released this month not promoted on the X Factor like it normally is before X Factor live shows start. Then it's a genuine achievement. I would love to see a festive song at number one again to be honest, like Coldplay's or the The Killers' or even Ellie Goulding. I did buy Rage Against the Machine, but it's a shame it came to that. Buying this would be ridiculous (Cage did only one good thing as a composer: the prepared piano), as would Surfin' Bird and I would rather X Factor over these stupid campaigns. It's about REAL music getting to number one, or at least a normal effort made without some capitalist monopoly being involved.

Wait, this and Surfin' Bird both have campaigns? Ridiculous, at least Killing In The Name was a legitimate song. If the sheep are going to do this every year, then they're no better than X Factor.
