After discovering BitCoin (where such a large number of people were kind enough to send small donations to 1LfdGnGuWkpSJgbQySxxCWhv8MHqvwst3 that I’m now considering paying for my VoIP with it) I’ve been accumulating a list of other non-centralised infrastructure that might evolve into something that’s both effective and Senator-proof. The huge amount of data traffic (especially when one begins using it) makes BitCoin almost unusable.
Certainly there’s a lot of traffic each time you start the client, yes. But running long-term on a server I’ve not seen it generating unreasonable traffic

Indeed, it’s clear that BitCoin is in no way private if your address is public. I think there are ways to deal with that though.
